Butterfly Work of Art

The only way you’re going to get me to stop using the Work of Art stamp set is by taking it away from me!  I was thinking about doing another flower card but then decided to use a butterfly instead, as I haven’t gotten the Papillon Potpourri set out for a while.  Here is this week’s card in all its pink fabulousity:

Featuring New In-Colors

Stampin’ Up has five new In-Colors for 2014-16, and I haven’t had a chance to use them that much.  So I decided this week I would make a card with two favorite In-Colors, and those are Mossy Meadow and Blackberry Bliss.  I have also been wanting to use the Victoria Crochet Trim (which was retired at the beginning of June) because I have three rolls of it!  So this card incorporates those features as well as a new embossing folder.  Without further ado, here is the card — it was fun and pretty quick to make:

A Quick Thank You

Over the weekend I made some thank-you cards because I had run out.  You can  never have too many thank-you cards!  So this is the one I came up with, using a red and white color scheme:

Card_07.08.14

It’s simple but elegant, and I love the red pop of the polka dot paper and the flower!  Of course, you could make this a birthday card or a thinking-of-you card as well.

I’m Baaaaaack!

It’s been too long since I’ve kept up with posting my weekly cards!  A couple of you have told me that you miss my blog updates, and I do too.  So my goal is to stay current with the blog and post pictures of the cards I make each week.  Hopefully you will be inspired.

Here is the card I sent out last week (and I still have a few that I need to send out this week):

Card_06.30.14I LOVE the Work of Art stamp set!  To be honest, when I first saw it in the new catalog, I wasn’t that excited about it.  But then I started seeing what people are doing with it, and now I think this set is amazing.  I kind of want to use this set for all my cards lately, but I am making myself use other sets to give this one a rest, haha!

So on this card I love how the different swaths of color form the sandy beach, water, and sunset, and then the birds are superimposed so that it looks like they are walking in the water with their shadows on the beach.  So neat!  :)

Border Mania!

Our October workshop was today and featured five cards where we tried out different border techniques, including border punches, edgelits dies, lace tape, and pretty paper.  Below is a picture of the cards we made.  I’m not sure if you can see the sparkle and shimmer in some of them — the peacock is embossed silver (stunning!) and we used the red glimmer paper in the Christmas card.  I hope you all had as much fun as I did!  Hope to see you at our November workshop — check out the calendar in the right sidebar.

Fall Pheasant

Hi Cardigans!  Boy, October sure has been a full month for me.  I am very far behind on sending out cards, but I hope to get caught up in the next week.  Today’s card is one that I made last weekend and I still have quite a few to send out this week.  I was in the mood for something autumnal and a little rustic.   I had quite a bit of retired card stock that I wanted to use, too.  I pulled out the Walk in the Wild stamp set and saw the pheasant, which I had not used in a card before.  I made several variations of this card, some using cotton chevron ribbon and some using burlap ribbon.  It satiated my pining for a simple, homespun fall card.  Hope you like it, too!  Oh, and hope to see you Saturday at our next card workshop!

Fishy Fishy Fishy…SCORE!

Hello from the Denver airport!  I am on my way to visit family in Nevada and have a two-hour layover here.  So while I’m waiting for my flight I thought I would post this week’s card.  A couple of weeks ago I got the SU Scoring Plate and wanted to try it out.  So here is what I came up with:  A little school of fish and some scored wavy lines.  I have to admit it did take a while to do all the scoring and coloring, only because I made 24 of these.  But I think it turned out cute and hope you do too.
