Fall Colors!

The theme for our September workshop was Fall Colors!  With the cooler weather we’ve been having, it is feeling more and more like fall.  Soon the leaves will be turning all the beautiful, brilliant colors that were featured in this month’s cards:  orange, yellow, gold, green, purple.  This time we played with not only vibrant colors but also some new stamp sets that are in the holiday mini-catalog.  So much fun!

Cards_9.13.14_WorkshopI hope you had as much fun on Saturday as I did!  I’m looking forward to next month’s workshop.  What will our theme be for October?  You’ll have to wait to find out!  :)

Rainy Inspiration

Hi Everyone!  It’s been raining and thunderstorming for the past two days, so we are a little soggy.  This morning I was struggling to come up with a card design, when suddenly I spotted this Sunshine and Sprinkles designer series paper.  It is a retired paper, but the umbrellas really inspired me and I decided to use some of it up.  So here is this week’s card:

Feathered Thoughts

Hello!  School started this week, so I have been super busy with that.  But I finally took a few minutes to make some cards to send this week.  I have been wanting to do more designs with the Four Feathers stamp set, which I am in love with!  The stamps are beautiful AND you can get the stamp set bundled with coordinating dies which cut out the feather shapes.  That is what I did, and I am so excited about being able to put both stamped and cut-out feather shapes on my cards!  So here is this week’s card:

card_08.27.14I love the look of the feathers bundled together at the top with baker’s twine as well as the different purple colors of the feathers.  Hope you do too!

Monochromatic Monday

Hi Everyone!  Well, I guess am currently enamored with fast and easy single-layer cards, so here is another one that I made to send out this week:

card_08.17.14For this card, I stayed with a monochromatic color scheme of Baked Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake, and Naturals Ivory.  I kind of like the way it turned out — clean and simple.  I am going to try to get all of my cards out by Wednesday, so keep an eye on your mailbox this week!  :)

Stampin’ Up Supplies Used:
For All Things stamp set
Baked Brown Sugar card stock
Naturals Ivory card stock
Crumb Cake ink pad
Baked Brown Sugar ink pad

I think that is everything!  See, I told you it was simple!

August Workshop: One-Layer Wonders

Hi Everyone!  Yesterday was our August workshop, and we made 10 cards, as usual — two each of five different designs.  Our theme for this month was One-Layer Wonders, so every card was stamped in only one layer.  The best thing about one-layer cards is that they are fast and easy to put together.  The downside is that, because you are stamping all on one layer, there are multiple opportunities to mess up.  :)  I think you have to learn to live with less than perfect cards when stamping all on one layer — or maybe you just have to be a better stamper than me, LOL!

Without further delay, here are the cards we made for this month’s workshop:

cards_08.16.14_workshopWe had so much fun with these cards, and they were a huge hit!  Everyone got done super quickly, and I think we were all happy with the resulting cards.  Hope you enjoyed the workshop as much as I did!  See you next month.

July 19 Workshop

Since our last workshop, I have been traveling a lot so am just getting a chance to post the cards we made a few weeks ago.  The theme for our July 19 workshop was WOW Factors!  We learned and used five different stamping techniques that are showcased in the cards we made.

cards_07.19.14The techniques we used are Emboss Resist (top left), Spotlight (top right), Braided Chevron (bottom left), Rock and Roll (bottom middle), and Thumping (bottom right).  I think everyone learned something new, and it was a great time.  :)  Looking forward to another fabulous workshop coming up this weekend!
