February Workshop: Flowers & Butterflies

Yesterday we had a fun workshop filled with smiles and laughter.  Our theme for this month is Flowers and Butterflies because, well, you can never have too many flowers or butterflies on a card.  That’s how I think, anyway!  Here are the cards we made:

They feature a variety of colors and Designer Series Papers as well as some items you can get free from the Sale-a-Bration flyer.  Our next workshop is March 26, and I hope you can join me!  You can always check out our schedule of upcoming workshops at the top of the sidebar on the right side of this page.

Bee Mine

Hello Cardigans!  Valentine’s Day is coming up, and I have signed up for a card swap on Ravelry so needed to make a bunch of cards for that.  This week’s card features a couple of cute little stamps from the Hello Honeycomb stamp set along with some pretty DSP and washi tape that are retired.  (But yay — I’m always happy about using up some older products!)  I love the colors and the artistic look of this card and hope you do too.

Rainbow Art

Hello Cardigans!  I am reviving my card blog and getting back into doing card workshops this month!  I have really missed doing the workshops and seeing all of you, plus it has been hard for me to carve out time to make cards on a regular basis.  So all of that is drawing me back into hosting periodic card workshops.  I’m going to try it again for a few months and see how it goes.  This month’s workshop will be on February 27!  I’ll be sending an email to our list with all the information.  :)

Now, my latest card was motivated by a card swap I signed up for on Ravelry.  It was for our card swap group’s January holiday, Inspire Your Heart with Art Day, which was at the end of January.  I wanted to make an art-themed card for that, so here is what I came up with.  It’s a simple, single-layered card but is still colorful and has a pretty frame.

Monochromatic Gratitude

Hi Cardigans!  In the past couple of days I’ve been in a card-making frenzy to replenish my depleted stash of ready-made cards.  In addition to the one I posted yesterday, I made some of these Grateful for You cards.  I really like the simplicity of it.

Thanks a Bunch

Hello Cardigans!  I recently used up the last of my thank-you card stash, so it was time to make some more.  I have been focusing on EASY cards lately, out of necessity, and I continued along that theme for this week’s card.  The bonus is that once again I used some retired paper and ribbon!  Here is the final design:

Holiday Cheer

Hello Cardigans!  Over the past few  months, I had made quite a few holiday cards to send out in December.  Well, I signed up for two big holiday card swaps and with those I’m probably sending out 100 cards!  That pretty much used up my holiday card stash.  So I needed to make more to send out to my friends and family.  This week’s card is one that I’ll be sending out to my loved ones.  It is another easy one, plus I got to use up some of my overstock of retired DSP.  I still need to make more, though, so stay tuned for additional card designs!  Hope you get a lot of happiness in your mailbox this week!

Moose of Happiness

Hello Cardigans!  After our card workshop yesterday, I was in the card-making mood so whipped up some super simple cards to send out this week.  Basically, I just framed some designer series paper, tied a ribbon around it, and then stamped the sentiment.  I made a couple of different designs, some with this adorable moose paper, and some with a neat geometric graphic.  They are from the same paper pack, though.  May your mailbox be filled with cheer this week!
